Masterclasses in Food Preservation

beef stew : local grass fed beef, local organic veggies & starches & local organic herbs

Fresh local food is always the best, though having freshly preserved local food without unnecessary or unhealthy preservatives is definitely the next best !!

Preserving food is such a nourishing tradition, especially living here on these islands where storms are inevitable and there’s always something in abundance. Here on our homestead, we are always preserving — it’s part of our lifestyle. And we were reminded by this recent storm that shut down our island just how good it is having gardens & a pantry full of local, healthy, homemade goods. Brings you so much calm & comfort and helps keep you well-nourished during stressful times. . .and we want to share this tradition with you💛

Preserving also helps reduce food waste, when you have abundance, by extending the life of produce and meats. It allows you to create a healthier, more nutrient-dense pantry. And it is a fun nourishing tradition you can pass along to our keiki and ʻohana. Homemade preserves make wonderful value-added products of the ʻāina to sell, and thoughtful makana to give to the people you love.
