Masterclasses in Food Preservation. . .

Hawai’i residents only.

beef stew : local, grass fed beef, local organic veggies & starches & local, organic herbs

Preserving food is a valuable and nourishing tradition, especially living here on these islands. Here on our homestead, we are always preserving — it’s part of our lifestyle. And we were reminded by the recent storm that shut down our island that having a pantry full of healthy, homemade goods does bring so much comfort and help keep us well-nourished during stressful times.

Preserving also helps reduce food waste by extending the life of fresh, seasonal produce and meats. It allows us to create a healthier, more nutrient-dense, and self-reliant kitchen while keeping skills alive and on-going. As it is a nourishing tradition we can pass along to our keiki and ʻohana.

And it’s fun creating our own homemade goods from scratch! They make wonderful value-added products from the ʻāina to share or sell, and thoughtful makana to give to the people we love.
