Sorrel has been preparing food from her own gardens since she was a little girl growing up on her family’s organic farm in San Diego, CA. She is also a wild food forager. She’s studied cooking & nutrition; the nature & science of food & food medicine, traditions and agriculture around the world. Her classes are fun, informative & very delicious!
Jam + Jelly Class
Kalen Kelekoma is a Master Food Preserver & Instructor. He has been teaching courses since 2015 for the University of Hawaii at Hilo and around Kaua’i & Hawaii Island.
Join him for 2 hours of good old fashioned fun learning how to make and preserve your own jars of tropical fruit jam + jelly. You’ll get recipes and two jars to take home with you; made with tropical fruit from our garden or neighborhood.

Poke Cooking Class
POKE’ is a Hawaiian Tradition.
And it’s part of Kalen’s history, as his family were fishermen.
Join Kalen for 2 hours of fun hands-on instruction where you will learn the story of poke and how to make traditional local poke and modern day spicey poke, and then you’ll be encouraged to create your own. Class is followed up with a sit down byob poke bowl feast here on The Homestead of what you created or feel free to take it away for a picnic on the beach.
All Classes are $75 pp with a Minimum 4/Maximum 6
